Organizing and training active Tenant Associations who help identify what education and services programs are needed
- Access to computer lab and training
- English classes and civics instruction
- Financial literacy and home buyer education
- Health care & pesticide education
- Immigration law and worker rights
And provides services through activities such as:
- Community room for Tenant Association meetings
- Social events including fiestas, cultural celebrations, baptisms and weddings
- Meetings for the larger community
- Referrals to local service provider agencies for counseling, medical and other types of services
The Raices Organizing Project seeks to empower residents by:
- Inviting tenants from housing developments and the local community to become members
- Ensuring that tenants are the majority of the Board
- Providing needed training and formation to the Raíces Board and membership
- Assisting with goal setting, action planning and execution of plans to address tenant issues
